The PIAA 004XT Series Xtreme White Driving Lamp has a compact design and high light output for versatility and maximum performance. The 12V-H3 55=110 watt Xtreme White bulb gives you 110 watts of light for just 55 watts of power with a brilliant, cool white with a tint of blue. The silver PPS housing is round, ultra light weight, and compact. Driving Light Beam Pattern

The 004XTs are great driving lamps, and excellent for their intended application. They shoot a relatively narrow beam *way* down the road. I replaced the 1100s on my motorcycle with 004XTs for just this reason and I'm very happy with the switch. But note, the PIAA 1100s and 004XTx have different beam patterns, 35 degrees versus 25 degrees respectively. (Compare to 90-100 degrees for fog lamps.) The 004XTs will not illuminate the sides of the road as well as the 1100s, just as the 1100s won't illuminate downrange as well. They're both excellent products--just pick the right one.

These work just as well as the 1100x I used to have but PIAA has discontinued. The drawback of the 1100x was the lens and lamp was a single unit and expensive to replace. This is better designed to allow you to just change the burned out bulb. The only criticsm of this is the body is made of plastic while the 1100x was a metal body. Wish PIAA would make a quality metal bodied small lamp.

I'd tried some cheaper models of auxilliary lights without much success. Finally bit the bullet and paid for quality. PIAA has always had a reputation for great lights, and I wasn't disappointed. These are great, and I got them for a good price.
