Brilliant concept!

I have seen other beaded mazes and they are usually just that: beads. They may have different shapes but they are rather boring. However, this is highly impressive and well thought out. It's a city! I love that the subway actually goes underground!The figures are painted into such things as a helicopter, airplane, bird, sun, moon, star and cloud. Also there is a car and train that moves around the base of the board. Please not that there is not shape sorter in this model. Also, The railroad crossing gate broke off but that is the only complaint. I still think the toy is wonderful. My son is only 7 months and loves to spin the beads. When he gets older he will be able to play with the toy as it was mean to be.

Pretty large, but very engaging

We got this as a first birthday present, and it is still fun for baby at almost a year-and-a-half. She likes to pull the beads along, especially the "underground" train, and to raise and lower the crossing guard for the little car and train. As an adult, I really like this toy. I find it clever and aesthetically pleasing. I like good design and imagination, and this toy has those things.This is rather large. It's almost as big as some of the jumbo bead mazes you see in waiting rooms at the dentist. Definitely worth thinking about where you are going to store it after the kids outgrow it.Quick warning: the first time we ordered this toy, it arrived with one wire bent out of place, so the beads couldn't slide past the other wires. It wasn't immediately obvious, so check yours over carefully and make sure you don't need to return it.

Warning - Shipper sending wrong model

I received a different model from Amazon. The one I have is missing the shape sorter and has less mobility. I contacted Amazon that I had received something different from what was advertised and they tried replacing with the correct one but just sent the same model I had received before. I gave up and kept the one I got and returned the other replacement since Amazon does not ship more than one replacement per their policy to avoid additioinal headaches. I like this toy, my son 12 months old enjoys it and I can see him playing with it more appropriately in the future. He currently bangs the cars and twirls the other characters around. However, i feel jipped for the money I paid and was trapped into keeping a toy I would rather not trouble with shipping back.
