Palmsized, provacative and subterranean cool

I'm an analytical person, roots in the Midwest type (Milwaukee) who feels a strong urge to sweep the kitchen floor after breakfast and supper. I'm not the type who usually gets caught up in the mystique of something, but when I am holding this three-inch hunk of cobalt blue and silver leaf crystal it feels to me like I have in my hand something unnaturally heavy and animate. The thing seems to regulate its own internal temperature, which is subterranean cool.One of a Kosta Boda series of "Brains" designed by glassmaker Bertil Vallien, "Jimenez" is named after 1956 Nobel laureate Ramon Jimenez (1881-1958). If you're like me, you're going to want to read Jimenez to get a feel for his poetry, which is lush and exotic, much like the crystal sculpture designed after him. "Jimenez" is a conversation piece, a personal touchstone, a thing as alluring and unique as it is provocative.
