amazing tool

A great tool that makes perfect flare's. If you work with tools every day, this tool is extremely easy to operate. It is a little awkward it tight places under the vehicle, but what flaring tool isn't. It takes me just over 1 minute to clamp the tubing and complete a double flare. The biggest advantage to this kit, is the ability to make fuel line fittings, it is a great compliment to any fuel line repair kit. I can now completely repair automotive fuel systems in house, without outsourcing any repair lines. The one thing I was worried about, was ordering this tool and not knowing the quality, well let me tell you, the mastercool flaring tool is of excellent quality, just as you would expect, it will fit in with the rest of the tools in your box. This tool is a great addition to my business, and will make it more profitable. It will take a very short time to pay for itself.

Professional Results!

I used this tool to make several flares. It works great. It's a bit awkward at first holding the die and tubing - but in minutes it was like I used it for years. I like this tool because you can bring the flaring tool to the car. Some of the other higher priced and higher quality flaring tools are set-up in a vice. If you have a brake line snaked through a car you-re pretty much out of luck bringing the brake line to the tool. With this one - you take the tool to the car.I highly recommend it. One short-coming is that it doesn't make 30 degree flare for An and JIC fitting. Oh well.

well worth it

i run a small repair shop and for years have used the hand screw type flare tool this tool is alittle acquard to youse at first but much less acquard than any other type i have tried and once set up it is effortless to use the hydrolic hand pump it saves time and work i give it 5stars all the way thanks mastercool

Super-sensitive for natural gas

I bought this tester because I wanted the most sensitive detector I could find/afford, to check for natural gas leaks. I emailed the manufacturer about sensitivity specs and someone emailed me the documentation the next day. It detects about 17 volatile chemicals -- hydrocarbons, alcohols, chlorine-based chemicals -- at levels below 50ppm. The sensitivity of these detectors depends on the type of sensor at the wand tip. This instrument is several times more sensitive to methane than the TIF 8900 I also own but TIF detects wider range of substances. I used the TIF to find several minute gas leaks in the gas supply piping in my basement. The Gas-Mate confirmed the same leaks and didn't find any leaks not found by the TIF. I already broke the on/off/sensitivity dial on the TIF just by turning dial down with my thumb. The Gas-Mate has a push on/off button and a sensitivity finger slide so seems less prone to accidental breaking. Both devices have thin plastic cases so be careful not be bang around or crush. Both devices have corrugated metal wand, but Gas-Mate has smaller size of sensor at tip which fits into tigher spots.

Good Quality Automotive A/C Gauges

I purchased this manifold gauge set for working on automotive A/C systems. I am pleased with them, they are well made, high quality set with extra long hoses. They will work both with the current R134a and the older R12 systems. The hoses will fit R12 systems but also come with the adapters for R134a. The yellow hose has dual connectors for both vacuum pump and refrigerant source. The gauges are non-flutter and accurate. The valves are smooth and easy to use. I would purchase this set again if mine were lost or stolen.The only negative is that it comes with a little place to fasten the loose end of the hose, to keep out dirt, etc. but that only works if you remove the R134a adapters. Since the majority of work is on R134a systems, I don't want to have to remove the adapters each time, plus that means loose pieces to keep track of, so I just don't use that feature. But it would have been nice to have the ability to fasten the loose ends with the R134a adapters installed.One last thing that is important to me, this set is Made In USA, the manifold, gauges, hoses, adapters everything, all Made In USA. I recommend this set for use in servicing automotive A/C systems.

Can't do without it

I maintain a fleet of school buses and this tester is used weekly. It has saved us a ton of money in air coolers that otherwise would have been changed for no reason. It is a great addition to the shops diagnostic tools. I bought ours off Amazon because of the price. It came without a case but for the price I can't complain.

Works well, but 'quick connects' leak.

This tester works very well, but only after you take the 'quick-connect' end off the cap that has it, and put gas-line thread tape on the threads, then re-install it. I also had to disassemble the gauge unit, reversing the safety plug with the quick-connect plug, so that i could install the unit and monitor the pressure via the intake side of the engine. Tested my Prostar with ISX Engine, and after 20 minutes at 30PSI with air supply switched off, I only lost about 1psi after the mods I had to make to the unit.

Worked great!!!

I used this tool on 1998 Lincoln Navigator with a 5.4L engine. This tool worked great and it had good instructions with it. I posted a video on youtube about how i used it as well. I only used it only on one cylinder head becauase it was the only side with a leaking head gasket/stripped spark plug thread. I would recommend it because it makes doing that job a whole lot easier.

AS A RETIRED FEDERAL AIRCRAFT MECHANIC I UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF PROPER TORQUE. ALONG WITH PROPER TORQUE GOES THE PROPER TORQUE WRENCH. THE SPLIT BEAM STYLE IS THE TYPE I HAVE USED FOR OVER 20 YEARS. YOU WILL HAVE LESS CALIBRATION ISSUES THAN THE "CLICK" TYPE, IN MY OPINION. DON'T EXPECT TO BUY THIS ONE OR ANY BRAND AND IT HOLD ITS ACCURACY FOREVER. THERE ARE MUCH CHEAPER ONES ON THE MARKET. IN MY OPINION, AVOID THESE LIKE THE PLAGUE. THEY ARE CHEAP FOR A REASON. Quality wrench.

excellant sprayer!!!

I bought this spray gun and pressure pot and hoses from a customer of mine a couple of years back for $70.I figured I couldn't go wrong because I knew the pressure pot was worth that alone. He said it was a touch up sprayer and he used it to spray trim on the exterior of houses. It was an odd looking spray gun and sat on the shelf for a couple of months until I thought I'd try it and see how it could spray.After playing with the controls a little bit I was amazed at how well it performed. I use this sprayer all the time now.Playing with the controls you can have a spray pattern from a 1/2"-12". I can spray in the tightest of spaces and hold the gun in any direction. I can spray for long periods of time with no arm fatigue. You couldn't possibly be disappointed with this sprayer. So far I sprayed Lacquer, polyurethane , stain , primer , auto paint , and latex.The latex and polyurethane I thinned down.

USA QUALITY!!!

Purchased this light to use on my 78 Honda CT 90 and a 66 Chevy pickup truck. It worked great, very convenient since it's self powered and just the single wire, and it doesn't matter if it's a 6 volt or 12 volt system. Nice bright light. The lens is protected by a rubber housing on the end of the light so it would be very difficult to accidentally scratch it. It is made in Chicago Illinois and feels very solid. Comes with 2 industrial grade Rayovac size D batteries installed. Very happy with this tool.

Great for Outboards

I love self powered timing lights, you never have to worry about the extra cables to the battery getting in your way (or water, or fan) while you are watching timing marks. I use this on outboard engines and it is perfect, and it works great on any other engine you want to time.Great for professional shop work or weekend (shade tree) mechanics.

$100 job at home, for 1/10th the price!

Easy to use, works just like the $100 jobs they do at the repair shop. Came with the manual for car specific applications, and some adapters. If you don't buy the solution online, it may not be available at some of your local auto parts stores. If it is just for home use and the adapters it comes with do not fit your vehicle, go online and buy the specific adapters for your application. Otherwise they have an awesome master adapter kit for almost any car. Remember you need a air compressor and the canister injector cleaner (not the gas tank additive) which costs around $10.

Got the injection cleaner really fast shipping, good price, good quality to expect from OTC Tool. Doesn't come with a case, but there is a part number to get one. Instruction indicate a case comes with the 7649. Would have rated it higher with the case.

I have bought these before and i will buy them again.We use these on our production line and they get allot of heavy use. They are a little on the heavy side but they last far longer than the other manufacturers units we have used in the past. Parts are readily available as regular wear and tear does happen like with any production tool, and because they are so serviceable we buy to increase capacity not for replacement.I do however think its ridiculous that you void the warranty if you use another manufacturers backing pad.For quality and reliability search no further!
