Happy with my purchase.

This watch is elegant enough to wear with a suit, yet also goes well with business casual or even jeans and a nice shirt. Wouldn't recommend it for pairing with shorts, athletic wear, or any very casual look. As far as battery life, I don't know why, but I have owned mine for almost 8 years and it's still going on the first battery, while batteries in my other watches last 2 years max.

Very good watch!

I am very satisfied with the watch. It looks great and feels just right- not too heavy and not too light. The dial is dark but still you can see the hands quite well even when it is not so light. The only thing I have to warn you against is that the links of the wrist band are quite big and I couldn't manage a very comfortable size.I have managed to keep it without scratches so far without much ado. Most of the casing is brushed steel and that makes it easier not to scratch. I can't comment on the battery life which is something that I am a little worried about since this is a model from 2005. Mine was made somewhere in the beginning of 2005. I deem this purchase worth the money .

Very nice watch

For the price, its a very nice and elegant watch. The dial is beautiful with the black and red combination. I don't care much for the other niceties except for the looks and accurate time, though there are some additional featues in this watch like alarm, stop watch etc. The alarm is loud enough. Also, wrist chain doesn't pull my hair too much.

This watch is a masterpiece

I own a copy this watch. It is a piece of art! Very thin with a beautiful face. Very accurate. Read about the history of Zenith watches and you will find that they are the premium Swiss watch. For a time (perhaps still), Zenith provided the movements for the very expensive Rolex watches. Zenith is owned by LVMH which also owns Rolex. I love the warm rose gold and the way it contrasts with the white face. You'll always know when you need to wind or wear it with the Reserve De Marche. The back is sapphire so you can see the movement. They should have more pictures of the watch to show how beautiful it is.

Very nice, but keep in mind....

This is the exact same as the Seiko SKX173, but that one has a black face, not yellow, and usually sells for $10-$12 less.Like virtually all automatic Seiko watches with the common "7S26" components, the watch keeps very acceptable time, perhaps drifting by a few seconds +/- per day.The watch will run down if not worn for 40+ hours. Not wearing the watch an average of 8 hours/day or not storing it flat on its back can also cause more drift in accuracy than usual.It's also not possible to stop the second hand when setting the running watch to ensure time is perfectly accurate down to the second -- this can be done with battery-operated Seiko diver watches.Check out the battery-operated, quartz-movement Seiko divers if virtually perfect timekeeping is needed and a watch won't be regularly worn. Battery replacement / 200m waterproofing can run pricey on those when needed, however. (It should be noted that Seiko recommends standard checks/maintenance on the automatics every 2 years or so, and similar pricey waterproofing concerns could be encountered there, too.)If a watch is worn regularly/daily and timekeeping within a minute is generally acceptable (and someone wants to test their luck with being one of those who can reportedly go into the decades with a watch being just fine without battery replacement / new waterproofing), the classic automatic Seiko divers like this do the job just fine.Hopefully someday Seiko explores their own solar line of watches once again. For the time being, those seem to have become their Pulsar line of diver watches, which supposedly can last 180 days on a single charge....

Quality Product

I bought this watch several months ago and have been pleased with it since. It is quality as opposed to those watches you pay less for. One would naturally expect that but in this day and age paying more does not always equal more quality, but in this case it definitely does. The watch is heavy, and the strap is long enough for most any size wrist (no skimping on strap length) and rugged. In fact, this watch is probably made to wear underwater outside the wet/dry suit but it looks great above water in everyday life! I'm thinking already of buying the same watch in the other color (I have yellow and it is impressive, but it comes in another color as well--that's how much I like it).

Great Watch

I bought this watch two months ago, and I absolutely love it. The face is not too big, not too small. The band is tough, yet it does not get in my way. I am on the computer all day. One of my main criteria for a watch was that the band was not too thick, as thick/metal bands really push on my wrist when I'm typing.I recently took the watch on a diving trip. I am glad I had it! My dive computer actually BROKE while on a dive. I didn't fear, though, because I had my watch on. I used the bright yellow Seiko to perform my safety stops on the way up. The yellow face and glow in the dark strips really allow you to tell the time in any condition. We dove to a max depth of 75 feet, and the watch is still going strong.The one issue I have had with this watch is that, as mentioned, I am on the computer a lot. My wrist may not get a lot of action throughout the day. The first couple weeks, I had problems with the watch stopping (as it gets its power from the winding motion of the wrist). I solved this problem by just shaking the watch for about 30 seconds every morning before I put it on. So far so good.4.9 / 5.0

I love this watch!

I love this watch. I received a watch exactly like this 3 years ago as a gift and loved it. It still works but the watchband is worn out and the crystal scratched. It was cheaper to buy the new one from Amazon than get mine fixed. It's too bad because the old one still runs perfectly but Seiko made sure you couldn't use a different band on it. Built in obsolescence--shame on Seiko!I still love the watch!

Great everyday pen

The Cross ATX fountain pen is a basic but terrific pen for everyday use. I've had mine for a year now and have had no problems with ink flow or leakage. The line width is slightly wider than one might think (I recommend a fine nib), but it's a great bold writer with a good weight balance in the hand. One of my favorites.

I got my watch a little while ago, and it looks exactly as pretty as it is in the ad.I love its pretty little diamonds, and the mother of pearl dial is actually quite breathtaking! For some reason I never got a watch that I could shower with and jump in the pool with before, so it's a big deal for me to never have to take it off. It's just permanently there on my wrist. I think it has that sporty-AND-elegant-at-the same-time look, - exactly what I wanted. And since it's Seiko, I know it's gonna be with me for a loong time!

Affordable communications, easy operation, outstanding vendor support.

We currently use three of these handheld units and plan to purchase a fourth. Here in rural southwestern Ohio, where there are lots of hills and woods, the 1 watt output of these radios provide a one mile range reliably. While traveling in convoy on long and unobstructed stretches of highway, the range is greater. They are used infrequently and have provided communications for five weekend long events over the past two months. For well under one hundred dollars, I did not expect much. These units exceeded my expectations.While the manual that comes with the radio is not very detailed, vender support is outstanding. I had a question regarding charging the batteries and received a reply within one business day. They recommended charging for 24 hours when new or totally depleted and overnight for normal daily use. These radios use commonly available rechargeable AA batteries and not the expensive type found on many amateur and commercial handheld radios. In other words, no special order for replacement rechargeable batteries. Also, at need, regular alkaline batteries may be used. (Attempting to charge the alkaline type batteries will damage the unit) The rechargeable batteries supplied work surprisingly well. We keep our transmissions short and to the point and regularly operate for two days and more per charge, especially if we turn them off for the night. These radios are extremely easy on the batteries while receiving and only draw the batteries down appreciably while transmitting.I hope to acquire the matching Dakota Alert MURS transmitters to provide wireless and portable security at remote locations. Allowing us to monitor the area around the vehicles or camp while in the woods etc.These radios are not water resistant nor do they provide military grade shock resistance. These radios are not "industrial strength", but neither is the price. They do provide all five of the unlicensed MURS frequencies while many others only provide one or two operating frequencies. They are affordably priced with great customer support from the vendor, Home Controls / Home Security 4 Less. In summary, good value for the money.

An amazing flash

This is expensive, but worth it. When I bought my 300D in October of 2003 I got the 420EX flash with it. When I upgraded to the 20D I also upgraded my flash to the 580EX. The difference between them is astounding. The 420 did basically nothing. Well, it flashed, but that is it. The 580 has a stobe setting! I can set my camera for a 10 second exposure and tell the flash to operate at 1/10 power and 1hz to get stop motion pictures!It seems to have a rocket-fast recycle time, even with the partially used batteries I stuck in it out of my 420. I accidentally had my 20D in continuous mode with the flash on, and accidentally took four flash photographs in less than a second (the flash didn't fire on the fifth photograph). Once my battery pack arrives I should be extra-dangerous.The 580 is a master flash, so I was able to wirelessly control my old 420 flash and have them both go off at the same time.The flash is complicated. The manual on the flash is 172 pages long (admittedly in 3 languages, however). The manual for the 20D is 168 pages long (in only one language).As for effectiveness, the 580EX and 20D combination far outshines the 420EX on the 300D. I haven't tried the 420EX on the 20D yet, but it is only E-TTL and not E-TTL2 like the 580EX. My pictures come out much better with the 580. The old 300/420 used to blow out the highlights all the time. I've only taken a few flash photos with the 580, but it seems to meter tremendously better.If it doesn't meter right, you can manually set the flash, or use flash exposure compensation, to get the exposure you want.I'm sure tihs flash does more, but I've barely had time to play with it, so I've reachde the end of what I can write authoritatively about.

Leave the 420EX at home - this is IT!

Disappointed with large room/high ceiling picture results with my Canon 420EX speedlight (see my review) mounted on my Canon dRebel - sent me shopping about 6 months ago for more light (you can never have enough light). My E-TTL flash metering with the 420EX also proved uneven - with sometimes unexpected over exposures and blown highlights. A solution for both was found!The 580EX appears to get me an additional TWO F-Stops and much better metering (E-TTL2) on my new Canon D20. Less time in Photoshop with better exposures, fewer blown highlights and the fantastic multi-shot strobe function are paying dividends with every indoor photoshoot I cover. It is worth the price for people who use the camera for a living - or are serious "pro-sumer" phototographers.I've since purchased a Canon D20 camera - paired it with my 580EX and am EXTREMELY happy with the result. The two items are made for each other. As happy as I am with my 300D (dRebel) and overall happy with my 420EX (see my review) the 580EX has allowed me to take my photography to the next level.I carry 3 sets (4AA) of 2500 amp/hr Ni-Mh rechargables good for over 100-150 (or more) shots per battery charge. I "fast recharge" two sets while using the other. I'm investigating a battery pack - but have not yet justified the expense - as the Ni-Mn rechargable prices continue to tumble.Using my dRebel, I shoot portraits with a battery grip from Canon (BGE1-see my review) and a speedlight flip bracket from Stroboframe (see review) and the Canon hotshoe off camera shoe cord (see my review). The lighter weight of the 580EX than the older 550EX which I nixed - allows me longer shoots with less hand fatigue and better camera balance. Be aware it is still larger and heavier than the smaller 420EX and is not for everyone.The 580EX is a Canon "Master" speedlight - allowing my 420EX life extension as a very dependable "slave" unit with very positive results on my portrait and event work.Is it worth the price?Yes - if:1. You can never have enough light2. You are a professional or serious hobbyist3. Are having metering problems with E-TTL metered speedlights4. Need a "Master" speedlight to power a "slave" unit5. It doesn't break your bankNo - if:1. You are a casual photographer (420EX should work fine)2. You are on a budget (420EX should work mostly fine)3. Don't need the performance and features (which are twice the cost of the 420EX).Canon products are well made, well engineered, dependable and fairly priced. All my major purchases of cameras, lenses, speedlights and printers have all been good performers over time.With that said, the battery door gives me the same occasional latching problem that my 420EX exhibits (rolling batteries around on the floor in front of a client is NOT a pretty sight -- I know - I shouldn't be in such a hurry...The Canon 580EX: for the discriminating and serious photographer. More than just an expensive toy - but still not for everyone!

It is what you pay for....

Expensive, yes.... But worth every cent...Here is what i liked about it so far....The PRO's:1. It is fast !! It may give you 5-6 pics in a row without halting and "asking for a little bit of time to rest" ;)2. The Manual settings, if you like to use it... you will love it...3. Nice Battery usage (I am using Sony Recharg. 2300mh and 2800mh) and it takes quite a lot of photos... Just about what the manual says...100-300, depending on how much light power you will be demanding from it...4. I am still about to find more good stuff about it... As for the size... As for the catchligt...The CONS:1. It's Expensive.... A Big Drawback for some..2. The Battery door compartment, could be better on a piece of equipment like this...Like said before... It is what you pay for....The best on it's category... (this go for all Canon Lover's);)

Excellent choice w/out breaking your wallet.

I bought this watch as a birthday & anniversary gift for my wife (she needed a day to day watch w/ date). It is not heavy, neither large. It's sturdy (for vacation w/ lots of swimming) and at the same time a very fine/delicate piece of jewelry.The 9 diamonds are really noticeable against the classy black face on the watch. I saw other watches with diamonds at the local mall but the prices were too high (over $600). She loves it and ended up buying the matching watch for me (#SGEA45).Pros are: an elegant watch, the diamonds are inside the glass, 100 meters (last watch she had even though it was 25m/water resistance died on a full day of snorkeling), and price less than $200.Only Cons is that the double digit dates can be too small at times (like 30 and 28).Overall, this is an excellent gift for an active and beautiful lady. (Paid $175).

This is an attractive watch but I am not crazy about the way the hinge on the inside of the band leaves a mark on my wrist. Also, the diamonds are extremely small and do not contribute much to the design. (I purchased mine for half the price at an auction site.)Update: Two years later, it still runs and still looks nice. Overall I would say it has proven itself to be very durable and I would qualify it a good watch.

For the price and quality there is not other watch but ZENO

Just purchased this watch on March 21 2009. Great looks and size and very high quality finish on the stainless stell bracelet and case. Looks very military and is shock resistant. I have 3 zeno watches and this is a great addition to my collection. If you are interested in a durable shock resistant military style automatic watch then this is your watch. The crown screws down as well making it good for diving I suppose although this is not an official diving watch. You should be safe to dive with it with the screw down crown. The chronograph buttons on the sides are not protected from being pushed under water so you will have to be a little more careful not to activate the buttons under water. Overall an excellent quality watch especially for the price. Zeno watches are first class swiss watches and are very underpriced for what you get. Just as good as Rolex, IWC or any other high end brand regarding quality. They just dont have the name yet. Highly recommened watch.

Great Watch for the price

I really have nothing but good things to say about this watch. I like the style, it can be worn with casual clothes as well as evening attire. It is very comfortable to wear and I have received many compliments on the style. I have always liked Seiko watches and this one for the price is definately one of my favorites. The only feature I wish this particular watch had is a lighted dial.
