Great watch at a great price!

I am a true believer in the quality of a Seiko watch. My father has had the same Seiko for about 15 years and it's taken a beating and is still in great shape. I purchased this watch from Amazon during a Friday Sale and got a great deal! I received the watch yesterday and it was much better than I expected it to be. I figured it would be a lighter quality than the $400 Seiko watches. That is NOT true. This watch is made of high quality stainless steel, it has a shiny blue face that really stands out. I am very impressed with this watch. It will be a CHristmas present for a friend and I'm even considering buying one more for another friend now that I see this is a great value for the price. The watch arrived in a nice Seiko gift box. Inside the box the watch was placed around a leather type pillow. It's an attractive presentation of the item. I give this 5 stars and highly recommend this to anyone looking for the quality of a Seiko watch at a great price.

Excellent value for high quality men's watch

This watch is truly gorgeous. Substantial weight and of a style that is elegant and masculine at the same time. My husband is thrilled with his Christmas gift. Large watch face is easy to read for someone who's approaching a time when he will need reading glasses. The clasp is very sturdy but much easier to open than some other Seiko clasps.My husband is very happy with the fact that the watch can survive getting wet in the shower or while washing the car...though he commented that if he is 100 meters under water, he will have bigger worries than whether his watch is still functioning.I would highly recommend this as an excellent value and impressive gift for any man; at this time I bought it, the purchase price was under $100.

I GASPED!

First at the price, I mean, come on---$100 for a SMALL jar of eye cream? SO I tried a sample at the store (put it under one eye) and started walking around the mall. A friend of mine came up to me and asked how I'd gotten my black eye. I thought the cream had caused my mascara to run and went to look in the mirror. NO! The eye I put the cream under was fine! Tight, no dark circles, refreshed looking. The difference in dark circles was so great that the guy thought my OTHER eye was bruised in comparison. I have been using it for one week now and I'm a devotee for life!

Good Value

This watch actually looks better than what it looks like on the picture. It loses about 2 to 3 seconds every week, but that is good enough for me.For people who are considerating a "kinetic" watch: One factor that you might want to consider is how long the watch can hold power and keep ticking. This one (SKA218) can holds up to six months. Some other Seiko kinetic watches can hold only a few days or a few weeks (I did a little research and found the data available on Seiko website). If you don't like to "power up" your watch by shaking it every few days, this one is definitely the choice.

Great Watch

I have had this watch for 3 1/2 years and it's still a wonderful watch. It's worn really well and still looks great. I wear it to work and out for occasions. I don't wear it in the house as to not tear it up. I have an office job so it's gently used. The only problem I had with it is the initial winding. I was wearing it every day and walking about 1 mile and a half a day to and from work and it was not fully charged for some time. The manual indicated it would have been fully charged in a day or two. I thought something was wrong and returned it. I got a replacement which did the same thing. Once it was charged it was good. I went to Iraq for 6 months and it was dead when I got back even though the manual says it will stay 6 months. But other wise it's held a charge well. I have been back for under two months and it's still not fully charged so it's consistent at least!!!!!!!!It's a beautiful watch and I would buy again for sure!!!

Just what I wanted.

If you're anything like me and hate processors and prefer to wire your stomp boxes on a nice pedal board, this is the product for you! I seems to have a lot of signal loss running six boss pedals and a digitech whammy pedal. My guitars had a flat tone.. even after trying to adjust my eq on my head... Note my head is a Marshall hdfx 100 that sounds pretty awesome when running directly into the head without any pedals. However, I decided to run a 7 band eq into my effects loop and continue running the other pedals on the line in. Once I saw a major difference with just adding the 7 band into the fx loop, I decided it was time to try one of these tub eq's and see what it does.. and WOW, tones like ive never heard before. I'm happy with the life im getting out of my rig now, and it's thanks to this pedal!

Beautiful

This watch is a very attractive timepiece. Hefty in weight and size, the watch will exude a commanding presence from your wrist. The flight computing features deriving from its rotary slide rule allow for calculations ranging from multiplication, division, and square root to navigational computations of time, speed, distance, and much more. A manual stopwatch and alarm function, the latter of which may be used as an alternate timekeeper for a different time zone, each work to make this watch all the more alluring. On a side note, the watch was in-stock and shipped promptly. Aside from auctions at Ebay, perhaps, the current (12/06) $225 price is also the lowest available for this amazing Seiko! Recommended!

A Very Beautiful Watch

I have been in love with aero chronograph watches for most of my life. I bought the first one when I was 15. My ideal time-piece has been the Breitling Cosmonaute, but the $4000+ price is an absurbity that offends my sensibilites. This series of Chronographs from Seiko (SNA411, 413 & 414) are the most exciting watches I've seen in years. The photos don't do it justice. Fit and finish are impeccable. I may buy another one to put aside for the future. I can't look at this watch without grinning. It may even satisfy my Breitling-lust!

THIS IS SEIKOS BEST WATCH, FAR BETTER MADE THAN SEVERAL OF THEIR MORE EXPENSIVE MODELS, I OWN SEVERAL DIFFERENT WATCHES, THIS IS THE BEST. IT APPROACHES MY ROLEX IN FEEL AND LOOKS GREAT. ITS ALSO PRICED SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS MORE IN THE LOCAL DEPT STORES IF YOU CAN FIND ONE. IT IS EASY TO READ THE DIAL IN LOW LIGHT, I RETURNED A WHITE FACED SEIKO OF THE SAME MODEL BECAUSE OF POOR CONTRAST. I RATE THIS AS A FINE WATCH WITHOUT THE HIGH PRICE.

Good price-value relationship

For my type of light use - I groom two pet Schnauzers - this table is perfect. It assembled quickly, is sturdy, has a ridged rubberized surface that keeps the dogs from slipping and folds up nicely for storage I would have given it 5 stars except the mechanism for opening and closing the legs is a bit tight and the sides of the metal handles are sharp. I solved the problem with a few wraps of duct tape around the handles.

Great watch; unbelievable price!!

I received this fine Seiko watch as a gift from my wife a few months before our wedding and I was immediately impressed with the size, style, weight, and overall look of this timepiece. I got many compliments on it at our groom's dinner the first night I wore it out. It has a handsome combination of polished and brushed metal and it truly is a timepiece to marvel at. Backed by Seiko's reputation of quality and craftsmanship, it is a steal at this price. Don't let it go!!

Nice watch

I got mine in Dec '03 and it has worked fine. It looks nice too. Paid 300 for mine and at this price I'm tempted to get a replacement. Suprisingly the watch face is a lot more scratch resistant than the steel band. I bang my arms into walls and poles and doors and such very often, the glass or whatever the face is made of is unaffected even when the steel gets scratched. This watch is durable too. It didn't get nicked or stopped even when i accidently smacked it into a brick wall. I'm not sure why it says that a battery is needed in the product specs. It doesn't need batteries.

Increible Seiko quality. But not nearly as nice looking as the photos.

This Seiko watch makes a great gift. It comes in a gorgeous deep blue box with the watch wrapped around a little white Seiko pillow. The watchface is every bit as impressive as the photos indicate. Unfortunately, the metal band is no where nearly as sexy as the photos would have you believe. The photos show a clear difference between the shiny and matte metal parts. In real life, the difference isn't so obvious. To be completely honest, outside of the fantastic watch face, I think this watch comes off looking a little cheap. So when you fall in love with the watch based on the photos (like I did), don't be disappointed when the watch you receive isn't quite so spectacular.

Best choice for us....

The only compaint I have is that this door does not have two parts (inside frame and outside frame) to connect. It is one single unit so my repairman had to build a metal frame around the opening of the door to make it look finished on both sides. Once that was complete, however, the door was perfect and we are now very happy with this door. You can't beat the price. My last dog door was a Petmate Ultimate. I spent 3 times as much than I did for the Magnador and the Petmate SUCKED big time. Magnador is more energy efficient and I can certainly tell a difference in my heating and cooling bills since I switched to this door.

GREAT PRODUCT

After 16 years of use by 3 dogs 35 to 90 pounds and installation in 2 doors, it has developed a small crack which I plan to dab with superglue. Not much else has held up that well over that time. Here's a tip: make the cutout so you can save it for re-installation.

heavy duty, lockable, durable!

Magnador stands up to heavy frequent use by my two active herding dogs. It's magnetic self-closing door keeps bugs and other critters from coming in, and the door locks, too, when not in use. Should be noted that it requires a framework for installation on a screen enclosure. Very good product.

A Modern Mechanical Jewel

I bought this watch for myself for Christmas 3 years ago and still love it.At the time I really wanted a Breitling Navitimer Fighter but they were selling for around $3,000, and I knew I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around with thousands of bucks on my wrist.I happened on this watch on Amazon and was immediately taken with it. Let me say, that the photo does not do this watch justice. When I received the Seiko I was surprised that it had much more sparkle than this photo imparts. And what really impressed me was that the face has great depth to it. The photo on Amazon shows a flat black surface with a mishmash of white lettering all over it, but in reality it looks much more like a mini metal Roman Colliseum with raised sides and a recessed center plain under thick glass. The face is about 3/8" thick. Very substantial and classy looking. Also, there is more contrast between the shiny center of the wrist band next to the flat silver sides than this photo indicates.I wore it to work one day, and a female coworker remarked,"your watch is gorgeous!" and that she was looking for one like it for her husband. And when I told her the price she couldn't believe it.The Breitling Navitimer is a beautiful watch, but since owning this Seiko Chronograph I rarely ever think about owning a Breitling. And since Navitimers now sell for over $6000 I feel even better about the $475 Seiko I got for $200.

Better than a pocket calculator

I bought one to replace my aging Seiko, and love it. Good ol' Seiko Chronograph in the middle, and the bezel does regular non-flying multiplication and division in addition to the airplane-related calculations, though you wouldn't know it from reading the instructions. Here's how:Turn the outer ring so that the number you want to multiply is opposite the 10 on the inner ring, and then find the number you're multiplying by on the inner ring and read the product from the outer ring opposite that.Division is the reverse of multiplication -- line up the dividend on the outside ring with the divisor on the inside, and read the quotient opposite the inner 10.

slide rules rule!

I bought this watch for the slide rules function on the bezel. It is very handy for me in my profession to be able to do multiplication, division, ratios and conversions on the watch. The only problem is that the numbers are a little smallOver all very well built and durable watch.
