5Great table
By Y. Baras
We bought this based on shape and reviews. We use it for an 18 month old and newborn, and it's great for both. The shape fits into corners and gives you an easier angle to do the 'job'. The shelves are convenient for storing and keeping handy all diaper and clothing changing equipment, even though some will complain they are thin, flimsy boards- we are taking about diapers, not a garage for cars. The shape makes for a very stable table, and the mat fits on nicely- although the screws to attach it to the table are not too lasting. But then again, where would the mat run?All in all a great changing table, with the only change I would make would be to enclose the storage shelves so the older children wouldn't have a field day undoing all your organizing.

4Great set up for a changing table - worth any problems
By M. Gerity
I honestly don't know how people change their babies with the table facing sideways like almost all of the other tables on the market are arranged. Once you try this setup, you'll immediately see that it is far and away the best way to approach diaper changes. Yes, like the other reviewers, mine came with some broken parts, but the customer service was good and they sent out the replacements right away. The person who said the table was wobbly obviously doesn't have it pushed into the corner as it is designed to be, because the walls make it almost impossible for it to wobble if it is put together correctly. Either way, I'd suffer through a whole lot more than some broken parts and a little wobble in order to have the only table on the market that has the baby facing you this way--changing diapers with the baby facing any other way simply makes no sense once you've used this table.

4A few problems
By manda c
If this hadn't been on sale, with free shipping, and an overall good buy, I would have given this much lower than a 4. I found that it was easy to put together, but mine is in pieces and needs some "fixing", so the quality isn't, in my estimation, that great. The lips on the shelves (very flimsy) all came off. Every single one. The staples aren't straight, so I can't just pop them back on.I've changed my nearly 2 year old on it (she's under 30 lbs) and it is a very sturdy product. I haven't figured out how to organize stuff on it, because I too have an older child in everything. I wish the company offered an extra cover for the changing pad. Since it is a specially sized mat, you have to order it from the company, and I don't feel 16$ is worth the thin poor quality cover that comes with it.

3A cautionary note
By Bigfoot
I bought this router during a promotion about a year ago. I figured for the price, I couldn't go too wrong. I use this router mounted in my router lift with good results. Positive experience echos that of many other reviews. However, I do need to sound a couple notes of caution:1. I've had some problems with the collet(s) releasing bits. The design seems a little odd, and Its a struggle releasing some bits without damaging the collet jaws. For best results, be sure you don't fully seat the router bit. If you have problems with the bit releasing, tap it lightly with a rubber or plastic mallet before removing the bit. It should drop free. (Please see the following comment section for some updated information)2. Buried in the manual, just before it turns to French, owners are cautioned to inspect the carbon brushes for wear. DO IT. Neither I nor my carpenter peers have had a router go through carbon brushes in less than a year, but this one did. Hitachi did honor its warranty for damage caused by worn brushes, but in my wildest dreams I wouldn't have expected the brushes to wear out with the moderate use I've given this tool. I'd buy this router again, but I'd check it more frequently.

5incredible router!!!!!!
By steve m.
I own them all 12 routers in all and this is by far the quietest router ive heard period.Im a pro cabinet builder/home remodeler and use my tools constantly this is very smooth and stable on its base and although its made in china it has extremely good build quality throughout. The quick lock lever for locking the router in its base is the best and easiest ive seen, no struggling here its so easy to close and lock it seems it wont hold the router in its base but it works like a charm even on heavy cuts, very good engineering..as far as power it has more than enough without bogging down to handle all but the largest raised panel bits with ease. You wont be dissapointed with this router and the price cant be beat for the quality..Now i want this in a 3-1/4 horsepower model, maybe that will be available ...

4This is a very solid tool for the money!
By Scott Pointon
I have been looking at this router for some time now and waiting for one of the woodworking magazines to include it in a head to head tool review. Unfortunately that didn't seem to be happening, so armed with a discount coupon I took the plunge...and I am happy to report that this is a very good tool. The motor is superb - very quiet for a router, especially one this powerful. The electronic variable speed works flawlessly and so far I have gotten great results hand routing in pine, oak, and walnut. Though the collett wrenches are cheap stamped things, they do the job. Speaking of colletts, this model includes one of each - 1/4" and 1/2". They seem to be of the no-frozen-bits variety so that is all good. I have not tried this router in my table yet as I feel my DeWalt 2 1/4 hp is better suited to that for its ease of adjustment and quick motor removal.Overall, I am very impressed with the quality, fit and finish of this tool and for the money I am astounded. I don't like it quite as much as my DeWalt DW618, but with a pricetag that is $40 less it is an incredible value. I highly recommend it!

5Impressive quality right out of the case
By E. Rowell
The first thing that I noticed about this router is how solid it is. The motor is surprisingly hefty for its size. I love the ease at which I can switch from the fixed base to the plunge base. The soft start is smooth and yet powerful. One of the things that made me decide on this Hitachi was the fact that I was constantly seeing it being used in the background of woodworking magazine article photos as well as on the covers and in advertisements for different products related to routers. The base locks are a breeze to use, they hold tight and are easily adjustable. I would have been satistied had I paid even more for it regardless of the free palm sander which is also a fine piece of equipment. It is true that it takes two wrenches to loosen the Collette but that is a give and take situation. Locking colletes are convenient but all that extra engineering in the motor housing just isn't necessary and I feel that it would tend to detract from the solid feel and quality of the motor. The router maintains it's RPM under a considerable load. I love this machine and would highly recommend it!

5Dare I say it? Yes, I dare: Better Than Porter Cable
By D. R. Locker
I played around with a bunch of routers and router combo packs before settling on this one. I played with the Bosch, Porter Cable, Dewalt, Milwalkee, and Makita, but none of them felt so solid in my hand or ergonically precise as the Hitachi.Getting it out and using it (a lot already) has only confirmed my decision. This is my first router to own, but I have used and fidgeted with a number of them. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.I really like the smooth feel of the locks on these, and the precision with which you can set them. The depth stop on the plunge base has a great design and the spring is firm enough to force you to make a smooth entry, rather than the motor 'falling' into the workpiece. The motor is a work of art. It is so smooth and quiet compared to many routers. As sound is a product of vibration, I tend to think that a router that is quiet and powerful at the same time is going to be more precise and smooth than a loud and powerful one. It's true that you have to use 2 wrenches to loosen the collet, but I feel more confident in its durability than a locking collet (as noted by another reviewer).I really think this the best 2 1/4 HP router combo on the market. Yes, even better than the old vanguards like Porter Cable and Bosch. It doesn't hurt that it is also a bit cheaper than most. Now if Hitachi would make a D-handle and include the edge guide in the package, then it truly would be the perfect router. But even without those, I still highly recommend this router, whether you buy it with the combo or just the fixed base.

2Not so hot
By Crusty Woodworker
Hitachi KM12VC Router plunge and fixed base.I purchased this router kit with high hopes. When I received the package i was very pleased with all of the accessories that were supplied, especially the set of guide bushings. Initially I was impressed with the power of the motor, and with how quiet it was even under load. I am still impressed by these features, even though things go downhill from there.Plunge base. The plunge base was so stiff out of the box that I had to work on it for hours to get it to work properly. I finally got it to what would be called "acceptable" but I ruined a couple of chair leg mortises before I worked out the bugs. This was with a jig I have used for years with zero issues.Collets. I have had several issues with both the 1/4 and 1/2 inch collets supplied. While routing a deep mortise with the above mentioned jig (1/2 inch carbide spiral bit) the bit came loose and spoiled the workpiece. This after I tightened it to what should have been an acceptable level with the supplied wrenches. I re-torqued the bit with even more force and now both collets stick in the spindle. The only way to remove them is with a punch and hammer. This is very frustrating. I have polished the spindle bore, and done everything I can think of to remedy the sticking collets, but nothing has worked yet.All-in-all this has been a disappointing purchase. I only paid $134.00 from Amazon with free shipping, so I probably got what I paid for. I just keep reading about how other woodworkers love this combo. I am a machinist by trade, and have over 30 years of woodworking experience so I don't feel it is "operator error". I'm thinking I just got a dud.I did read where some are having difficulty finding an edge guide to fit. I have a Porter-Cable edge guide 42690 that fits mine perfectly. It is available on Amazon and is a nice edge guide.Anyway, I have had good luck in the past with Hitachi products and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. As stated earlier, I just think this was a lemon.

5Just as I remember
By M. Mikoda
Jump boots, also known as paratrooper boots, or "Corcorans" after The Corcoran and Matterhorn Company, a division of Cove Shoe Company, which had the exclusive Department of Defense contract to artifice and supply them for years are a type of combat boot typically associated with the military. Jump boots are fully laced from the instep to the top and give more support to the ankle whereas ordinary combat boots during World War II were laced just above the ankle and had to be worn with leggings or puttees to prevent mud and dirt from entering the boot. These are comfortable and I love the zipper on the side. Just know the zipper does minimize any waterproofing.

5Wear them soaking wet for a couple of days
By GoodInfo123
A friend asked me to recommend a pair of hiking/camping boots. These are the one and only pair boots I owned in the USMC Infantry, GI boots will ruin your feet, I threw them away right after boot camp! Re-soled them many times, never gave me blisters. The tongue will sink if you don't "break" them in, completely soaking them and wearing them until they dry changing socks regularly for 1-2 days to 'shrink' to fit. Don't take them off until they are "completely dry", then kiwi them regularly, soft/supple. If you are really serious, upgrade them by re-sole-ing them with the most flexible soles you can find, your feet will thank you after 30 miles everyday weeks on end ;-)

4Good not perfect
By cabinetfixtures
I own a pair of these boots I bought at a army navy outlet. They have their good points being made in America and they are overall well made. One complain it the tounge of the boot is of a flimsy leather and falls down in the boot and that is kinda spotty I always have to fix it by pulling on the tounge. Other than that they are ok I like the soles the lug pattern is the best for hiking and I like to look. The aforementioned problem is my only reason I'm giving this boot a 4 star

5Dear Corcoran...
By Napoleon Dynamite
This isn't a review but just a message on the off chance that anyone representing Corcoran reads it. I live in the UK and it is virtually impossible to get these boots online in Europe. The ones I've finally managed to find cost an absolute fortune (£185) which I'm still going to pay as I may not get another chance to buy any -since these ones will no doubt quickly sell out. There must be a huge potential market in the UK and Europe just from armed forces personel alone, such is the reputation of Corcoran over here. So for what it's worth, please for the love of god try and make Corcoran boots available on Amazon to the European market -I beg you!Regards, Liam.
