Mobile Edge Briefcase 17" - I LOVE IT!!

After spending weeks deciding which case to buy, I think I found the best briefcase in the market! As you probably know, it's very difficult to find a good-looking 17" executive case, but this is the perfect solution!First of all, I have to accept it is a little heavy. However, I think you should be aware that buying a 17" laptop implies carrying some extra weight with you. If you want a quality case (like this), then you have to accept some extra pounds. The material is excellent and it will certainly last a lifetime.Regarding the size, I have an HP dv9500 and it fit perfect in the notebook pocket. This pocket is padded with a foam that avoids your laptop to get damaged in case of falling. I don't know if they improve that foam, but I think it will also last a lifetime.There are a countless number of pockets, compartments and divisions, so you can carry all your accessories, papers, etc. The grip is made of a gel that makes carrying the case a real pleasure.The only observation I have to make is that you can't remove the cover flap. Although MobileEdge advertise this product in their web page as it could be possible to remove the flap, it really isn't. However, I think it looks much greater with the flap and gives you a little more security.I give this case a 5-star review without doubts!!

Great briefcase, well made

Bought as a Christmas gift last year for my husband and proud to say it still looks brand new even though it is used on a daily basis. Well constructed, durable materials. Husband has said it is the best briefcase he has ever owned. Fits a 17" Dell Laptop like a glove with plenty of room for paperwork.

I should have checked out the weight of this briefcase before purchasing. It's heavier than I expected even without the 7 lb laptop computer I carry in it. It has lots of storage, but when you fill it with papers, etc. it becomes even heavier, of course. Otherwise, it's well constructed and will last a lifetime. The fabric on the outside is very durable and looks good. It has great padding around the computer compartment, which is some kind of foam. This may not last a lifetime.

Excellent Notebook case for my 18.4 inch widescreen

After researching almost a month for a case which would fit my huge 18.4 inch HP HDX 18t notebook, I stumbled upon this one. After reading another reviewer's post that it fit their large laptop, I decided to give it a go. Looking at it on Amazon, it didn't really look that great in the photos. But for the price and reviews I ordered it. When I opened the box I thought "wow this is nice, but it will never fit." I was wrong. Not only did it fit like a glove so securely, but it has several compartments for the power cord, battery, external hard drive and extra mouse I also use. Also my widescreen notebook slides nicely into an included removable protective case which comes out to store it so well. I am extremely happy with this case. I suggest it for notebooks with up to 18.4 screens with plenty of extra room for all your goodies. Very nice professional look. You won't be sorry if you buy this bag.

Good, quality case, may be too small for a full 17" notebook

I am very happy with this case, it fits my Acer 16" notebook snugly, so its a perfect fit. I gave it 5 stars for this, but if you have a 17" notebook, I'm not sure if it would fit because mine fits so tightly. But again, I don't know for sure. It's comfortable to wear over your shoulder or to carry as a briefcase, and the strap comes off if you don't want to use it. I am very happy with this purchase, it does everything I need it to.

Positive Experience

I purchased this case in January and have been using it for almost 4 months now. Initially it came without a strap......which was apparently accidentally left out at the factory. I contacted Mobile Edge directly, and they immediately resolved the issue with excellent and personal customer service. I almost never write any kind of reviews whatsoever, but since this was such a positive experience, I wanted them to get rewarded in some way if I could return the favor. The case is large, but it is lighter than the case I had for a smaller laptop. I'm now using an 8 pound "mobile workstation" 17" class computer that's for doing real production work and is not really for work while jammed in a regional jet. (It's for 3D animation, not e-mail or word processing.) The quality of the materials on this bag are very good. It feels like the dash of an exotic carbon fiber sports car. It is put together very well. It feels like the bag could protect you from gun fire with it's textured ballistic material. The quality of this material is better than other ballistic bags I own. The top loading case is nice, as is the padded sleeve for the laptop. There is gobs of room in here for other items and every accessory you can imagine. The price was also very reasonable. It costs about a third of what my last one cost. The only criticism I have for the bag is the split handle is not terribly comfortable for extended periods of time. However, that is really a nit pickey comment considering the trade-offs in function and weight. If I ever need to replace this one, and it's doubtful that will be anytime soon, I would definitely go with another Mobile Edge product since they really have good designs, good manufacturing, and great customer service. Oh, the styling of this bag works for professional environments very well - I don't think the picture does it justice.

very high quality bag!

I got an offer to get this case at a discounted rate with the purchase of my new laptop. Normally, I am skeptical of offers like this, but I found this case to be exceptional. It is VERY high quality. I think I would drop it and my laptop would be just fine. A couple of layers of protection and nice pockets to hold all your accessories like chords, flash drives, and whatever else you need.I have has several laptop cases and this is by far the very best one. I have put it through the paces and it still looks and performs great.

Bag is Great, Shoulder Strap Falls Off

This is a very well designed and made bag and has the most protective cushion I have ever seen in a laptop bag, the bag itself I love. However, there is a major flaw with the clasps that attach the shoulder strap to the bag. I always use the shoulder strap and every time I set this bag down and later pick it up by the shoulder strap, I have to specifically look at both of the clasps where the strap attaches to the bag to insure they will not catch. If I don't look and just lift the bag up, the clasps can catch on bag hooks and can/will slip right off.4 times in the first 2 weeks I have used this bag, I picked it up, one of the shoulder strap clasps popped tight off the buckle and BANG! Down goes my $1700 laptop crashing to the floor. In tight spaces like airplanes where it is hard to look, you are risking your laptop. The strap has popped off in the airport, on an airplane, at home, and getting out of my car. Every time it happens, there is no time to react, the bag and my laptop just crash to the floor.If you are going to use the handles to carry this bag, you will be fine. If you want/need a shoulder strap, skip this bag. I've gone through several similar bags over the last 10-15 years and have never seen a problem like this. The bag is superior to everything else I have had, but the shoulder strap is inferior to everything I have had. End result, I have to return it or give it away, my laptop is too expensive to go through this anymore.

This sweater is quite good. Wool fabric is dense enough. Though the Navy color doesn't match depicted one. It's more dark, closer to black. And proportions are bit unusual. Sleeves are longer than expected. Nevertheless, my overall estimation is excellent.

The Best Product of its Kind On the Market

I have taught CPR for almost 35 years and currently head up an American Heart Association Training Center. My instructors have had access to the top 4 AED trainers for over 5 years, but every one of them prefers to use the Philips Medical Heartstart. The other trainers gather dust. The Philips line of AEDs began as HeartStream in the late 1990s and were the first on the market with FDA-approved biphasic (2 directional) shocks, first to put AEDs on airplanes (American Airlines), first with FDA-approved Pediatric Pads,the first and currently only AED officially approved by the American Dental Association, and the first to be able to be purchased without a doctor's prescription. And considering that just a few years ago, AEDs cost almost $5000, the price makes it a steal! If you have a loved one in your home with a heart condition, this is the device for you! Be aware that no device guarantees success, and this machine will not help a heart attack, but it is the best chance for someone who experiences a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (complete heart stoppage). But if you buy it, please also take the time to get trained in its use by attending a HeartSaver AED training course - use of an AED is only 1 of 4 links in the AHA "Chain of Survival". You can find a course near you by going on the American Heart Association Webpage and locating a Training Center or Training Site near you, or call Philips Customer Service.

Contrary to what John Stevenson said in his review, you cannot administer a shock to someone who does not need it.The device has a built-in monitoring function that only allows you to shock when it detects the inproper heart function.

I used one a few weeks ago

We have 2 of these in our office. Two weeks ago an employee had a heart attack. Someone started CPR and I hooked up the the AED. After 5 shocks the womens heart restarted and she started breathing on her own. The ambulance response time was more than 10 minutes. (This is faster than average in NYC) Without the AED this 40 year old women would be dead. Two weeks later she is back at work.The device is very simple to use. The most important thing is to avoid panic. And don't give up, keep at it until the ambulance arrives.

6 years later and still going strong

I bought this printer new in 2005. 6 yrs later, in 2011, this printer hasn't given me a single problem. Not. One. Problem. It's still as fast as it was the day I bought it. It can spit out thousand page jobs without a single hiccup.If everything worked as well as this printer, cars would get 200 mpg and never need to be replaced!I also like the HP web interface for checking and administering the printer on my local ethernet network. Installing network printer drivers on multiple networked computers is as easy as could be.As perfect a printer as I've ever used. I expect this printer will keep going for another 7 years at least.

Reliable, low-maintenance

I've installed a dozen of these printers on our office network beginning about 3 years ago. All are still up and running. Low maintenance workhorses, all I've had to do is purchase more toner cartridges as needed. Compared to our old Xerox printers, these are a dream come true. No fusers, transfer kits, main charge grids, or imaging units to replace. Easy to follow configuration and help screens makes it simple to set up as stand-alones or on a network. I've tried a couple of "lighter-duty" HP laser printers and found the 4250n to be a better machine and well worth the extra money in the long run.

Fast, Darned Fast

I am used to faster network printers in the 30ppm range (which makes home printers seem slow). Then, this thing spits out at 45ppm. It seems like ours does 60ppm because it prints a page per second (maybe because they are not full pages of text). Wow. Of course, the expected HP quality and reliability.

Use it everyday - problem with printing underlining

I use this printer everyday at my law firm. It is used abused and otherwise faces a harsh life. It prints constantly throughout the day with a dozen people networked to it. We have four others of this same model at the firm with similar usage. It really runs like a champ. None of the four have ever broken down and the only necessary maintenance is changing the toner. We rarely have any paperjams and print on all different types of paper, including envelopes.One strange thing - probably driver or software related (so only one star deduction) - is that it sometimes fails to print underlining. If I have a Word document on my screen with underlining and I push print twice, every so often the first copy will have underlining, but the second will not. Very strange. Our IT people can't figure it out.With the exception of the underlining caveat, this is a fast laser printer able to withstand heavy usage and I give it a full recommendation.
