Product Description
Anyone who's ever had to fix a complex sound issue without the right testing equipment can tell you, they'd rather have been golfing... in hades. Seriously, having the right testing gear isn't the best way to find dead cables and shorts - it's quite often the only way to figure out what's going on in a timely enough fashion that the show can go on... and the show (as we all know) MUST go on. That's why you'd be wise to pick up one of these bad boys: the Whirlwind Qbox audio-line tester.

Qbox in practice
By Michael Sena
This unit comes with almost everything a broadcast tech could need. I, along with just about every audio tech currently on the road with sports TV broadcast trucks in the country, use this product on a daily basis to track down problems. It lets one check voltage for PLs, IFBs and phantom, has a speaker for audio signals and a loop to check cable continuity. It has loads of options for monitoring both powered and passive signals. There's only one other unit that I prefer over this, the amazing Behringer CT100 that sells for a fraction of the price of this, but it has no speaker. The only drawbacks to this unit are the size and the price. Its big to wear on a belt pack along with other tools so I have it in a bag on my belt because the clip tends to slip the unit off without an enclosure. Its quite pricey. I don't know why they charge so much but really this is almost the only way to go on a unit with this many options. PS - It works in the rain!!

Find any problem at any point in signal path
By k1430
Buy this box.You can listen to audio signal at any point in the signal path nuff said.500' runs to vocalist in the middle of no where not passing signal. Check signal with this box. Guitar God being a prick insisting that your monitor rig is broken. Instantly shut him up by testing his rig with your box. My stuff works yours doesn't. Coms line sent to other end of giant mansion for outdoor wedding gig not working. Test coms line with box. This box has payed for its self in saved aggravation many times over and Ive only had it a month. A well build product (Everything Whirlwind is well built tho). My buddy has had his for over 15 years and it still works. Any stagehand type that deals with audio troubleshooting should buy one. Money well spent

Never say "no" twice when your audio lead asks if you own one.
By Steven Cordova
Simply put, if you are serious about audio you should have this in your bag. Tone, cable testing, instant com...jeez, the list goes on. I pair this with a cable tester that covers the oddballs you always find on the job. FYI - always clearly mark you Qbox.
