5Nice looking lamp base
By B. Yang
I am using this lamp base to hold my orchids lights which are very tall and heavy CF bulbs. It looks very refined and classy. It is very sturdy and will not topple easily thanks to the big heavy base. The height is adjustable easily. Recommend to anyone, especially someone who grows orchids and thinking about getting orchids light.

5Could not be happier with this
By L. Jacobson
We had this pendant fixture installed in our dining room. It is THE BOMB. One thing to note is that the picture that initially comes up on amazon is wrong--it shows the supports that connect the base brackets to the top as these thick almost strap-like things whereas what the fixture really has is thin wires that connect the frame's base brackets to where the chain connects. The thin wires create a very clean, streamlined look. The glass is beautiful--when the light is on, you can see flecks of different colors like green, amber, etc. The chain is also something I should mention because it isn't shown clearly in any pics I looked up. Usually, when a part of it isn't pictured, it means that I'll be disappointed in what it actually turns out to look like. Not in this case--the chain is black and has rectangular links--sort of a bold, nautical look and it's really outstanding. The electrician had no problems assembling it or installing it. I'd highly recommend this fixture as it's very unique.

4Great Single Channel Dual Wireless Mics
By B.A. Umberger
I bought this dual mic system over a year ago and they have performed great! I run a high-end karaoke show 3-5 times a week and have used them since early 2009 ... and yes they have been dropped a few times, but they still keep going. I did have to super-glue a few small plastic pieces and have had to replace the screens a few times (expected when drunks drop the mics), but they have performed admirably. The detailed specs are GREAT, some of the best I'd seen - that's why I bought them - minus a few numbers they are easily comparable to more expensive mics (like Shure SM-58), except the price is way better! They come in a very well made sturdy carrying case.My only complaint is that we have had a few problems with interference, but not many over the last year and they were very minor issues. The range is great (even with the antennae down) and they last a whole 4-6 hours on the cheapy $.50 9V batteries we buy, which means they last the whole show for a BUCK! I do turn them off between singers though. I also love the fact that each mic has their own output jacks, this is great for controlling the volumes separately at the mixer, I never have to touch the receiver. My expectations where high for the mics and they kept-up, and are still going! The company is great also if you need inexpensive replacement parts, or extra mics, or styles of mics. You cannot go wrong for the price!

3Initially OK
By GaSouthpaw
While I was happy with the item when I first received it, I began to have problems with one channel cutting in and out. Too bad, because- when they were working, they worked great.

5Hisonic UHF Dual Wireless Microphone System, HSU302H (Electronics)
By joey
The mic system is very simple to set up and use which works great for me. It is light weight and not cheap looking. It looks like a good quality mic to me and the sound was great. I have not taken it out with me yet but plan to do so soon. I tested the mic system around the house and went as far away from the base as I could and still the sound was absolutely great! Clear, good bass, and no interference with other technology that was around. It has the on/off switch on the outside of the mic and a light that indicates if the battery is low. I was please with the packaging and product so far. I guess if you're looking for simplicity, and really great sound then this product should do the trick. So far, I would recommend purchasing this item. Black being my favorite color it's fits right into my program. Everything seems great! Go ahead and make the purchase you won't be sorry, I hope your expereince will work out just as good as mine.

5No better speaker for price
By James M. Mccluskey
I purchased the Polk Audio Monitor 70 speakers 3 months ago.I use them for listening to 2 channel stereo. After listening to them extensively and considering what I paid for them,I should have felt like I was STEALING when I bought them. When paired with the right power source these are just unbeatable for the price. With the NAD C325BEE integrated amplifier these speakers put out an INCREDIBLE BASS response:clean, deep, powerful and tightly controlled, displaying great detail.Yes,DETAIL in the bass response. With this amp and Polk M70 speakers there is NO NEED for a sub-woofer.The mid-range is awesome and the high frequencies are crystal clear with no hint of harshness or stridency. After hooking these up to the new amplifier I was just FLOORED at the quality of the sound that leapt out at me.The human voice is reproduced faithfully with every sibilant and subtle expression captured. It sounds like the singer is in the room with you! These are beautifully balanced in tone and sound NATURAL.They sound crisp and have great punch if you have the power to push them properly. There are many speakers out there that cost much more that don't sound as good as these Polk's.These Polk speakers have been a revelation and I am tickled sonically pink.Want the most bang for your buck? BUY THESE!

4Deep bass
By PM
I've seen some reviewers question the adequacy of the Monitor 70's bass response. I have these speakers hooked up to a modestly powered Onkyo receiver, and I find the bass more than adequate for all types of music. I like a deep, rich bass in my tunes, and I have felt no need to attach a subwoofer to my system. In fact, I've turned the bass down a bit on my receiver to allow the midrange to shine through. As others have noted, the midrange and highs are crisp. Be aware the speaker is almost 16" deep, so it tends to stick out from the wall.

5Great Speakers for the Price.
By P. Rose
Upgraded my Monitor 50's to these and what a difference. More bass resonance, great detail in the highs and bi-amping brings the fullness out of them. Thank Goodness my neighbors are friendly as they will rock the house. Polk does a good job with all of their Monitor Series as I moved the 50's to the back of the system and it all sounds wonderful with a good SACD cd or THX DVD movie. Not able to afford much more, but I feel that I have gotten a lot of bang for the buck.Paid a bit more at Amazon but with Amazon Prime the shipping was free and fast for those who want immediate gratification.

5Wonderful Sound, Excellent Value
By Psymon JC
I purchased my Polk Audio Monitor 60s after auditioning "higher end" (read alot more expensive) floorstanding speaker offerings from KEF iQ series, Klipsch RF and F series, and similarly priced speakers from Wharfedale, the Boston Acoustics Horizon floorstanding speaker, and also Polk Audio's own Monitor 50 and Monitor 70.To my ears, the Monitor 60s combine the best elements from all of these speakers. They have a wonderfully open, spacious and detailed sound that results in realistic reproduction of instruments, voices and soundstage. I was bothered by the brightness of the KEFs and Boston Acoustics speakers though these speakers may have had slightly better soundstaging capability. I didn't like the sound of the treble from the Klipschs (specifically their tone and their detail/resolution capabilities), though they had better bass extension and great dynamics (slam). I found the Monitor 50's sound too lightweight, and I was surprised that I didn't like the tonal balance of the Monitor 70s - they sounded too dark to my ears.As other reviewers have noted, the bass is a little too light for home theater use (i.e. to really create floor shaking explosions) but adding a subwoofer (I already had two) removes that problem. On their own, without a subwoofer, I find the bass more than enough for critical music listening. Your mileage may vary, but I have never liked the sound of any subwoofer for music listening (it's too boomy), and the Monitor 60's tonal balance sounds just right for everything from rock, classical, jazz, latin, electro. The bass is very fast and tight and extends deep enough to reproduce nearly all instruments, except deep organ notes and some electronic bass.So I'm very very happy with the Monitor 60s particularly at their low price!

4Great General-Purpose Bargain Speaker
By Under the Influence
Here stands the narrow, but deep and tall Monitor 60 (M60), the middle performer of the Polk Audio Monitor series, between the lesser endowed 50 and bigger sibling 70. It's dimensions and tower design make it well suited for home theatre and two-channel music listening. At a height of 37.5 inches it pairs well with TV's perched on cabinet or wall mount. No need for cement bricks or adjustable stands, the 60 will put the seated listener's ear and the center channel speaker on the same plane. The upper three drivers, placed at the top end of the speaker's cabinet, will reach over even the most prominent sofa arms. The cabinet feet are of a hard plastic, spike design that works well enough for carpet or hard surface flooring. The Monitors sound quality is fairly clear and detailed, a slight bit on the bright side, but fairly neutral. I'm certain no one would accuse the Monitor of possessing too much warmth. To answer the million-dollar question - does the Monitor 60 have sufficient bass using a small woofer? My answer is the safe one, drawing up specs (depth versus output), considering intended use (music, movie, listening environment), and understanding human differences, it depends. The M60's frequency response ranges from 38Hz to 25kHz. For those unaware - the human range of hearing is generally recognized to be 20Hz (bass) - 20kHz (treble). Therefore, the 60's bass output leaves room for improvement in terms of depth. However, it's rare for music to reach below 40Hz and for movie watching with deep Low Frequency Effects (LFE) a subwoofer is the ideal choice.Out of the box, prior to break-in, and with no Receiver/EQ adjustment, my preference found the bass lacking prominence when playing a wide variety of music selections. Using the Receiver's "Direct" minimal circuitry setting the M60 produced just enough bass to be adequate for my taste. In fact, at this point, increasing the volume to feel the bass, you'll probably notice the pain in your ears far sooner. However, after about a month of break-in and adjusting the Receiver's EQ, the bass is sufficient. Increasing the bass tone control on the A/V receiver may be enough for some. Most modern A/V Receivers include graphic equalizers for each speaker as well. If the only intended use is music listening, the Monitor 70 with its added depth and three way design is probably worthy of the extra cost, just as the M60 is a better choice than the M50.When considering theatre use and for those who want the deepest, most prominent bass in their music, purchasing a powered subwoofer is the obvious. Similarly priced subwoofers drop down in the upper 20's and mid 30Hz area, thereby filling in the need for any added depth. The Monitor 70 rivals the RANGE of a subwoofer with low frequency output at about 30Hz and seems to be a good choice. However, bass VOLUME superiority from the subwoofer is far more than marginal. The difference is most noticeable on paper when reading SPL measures, but easily identified by even the ears of novice listeners. A tower speaker's added output during movie effects is noteworthy as opposed to the subwoofer which is proud and loud. If you're listening environment precludes heavy bass output, then a pair of Monitor 60 without subwoofer is an excellent choice. My Polk speaker system consists of the Monitor 60's in Front, Polk Audio Monitor Series CS1 Center Channel Speaker (Single, Black), and Polk Audio Monitor 30 2-Way Bookshelf Speakers (Pair, Black) in surround and rear positions. The subwoofer is a 250 watt amped, 12 inch HSU Research to which all bass is crossed-over at 80Hz by the Receiver, a 95 Watt per channel 7.2 surround Yamaha with High Definition audio decoders. Content is provided by a Samsung Blu-ray player and HP Home Theatre PC storing music in .WAVE and .WMA-lossless format. I listen to a wide variety of music, mostly Jazz and Classical, some pop/rock, occasionally techno/industrial, blues, world styles, such as Irish Trad. The 60's seem at home with each genre. However, primarily my system is used for DVD/Blu-ray playback. For added perspective, I listened to music with the M60's connected to a 100wpc Carver Integrated amp and matching CD player in a smaller, less lively room than that where my Home Theatre resides. The room seemed to lend a little upper bass forwardness, but the overall neutral-bright sound was pretty consistent. In addition, I bi-amped the speakers using a 200wpc Adcom 2-channel amp powering the three 5.25 inch drivers and the forementioned Yamaha powering the tweeters. There was no recognizable improvement. I believe that the post processing bi-amp configuration in the Receiver diminishes any potential gain. However, since this is advertised as an efficient 8-ohm speaker with a two-way design, high current configurations probably add minimal improvement in audio quality.Last, Polk speaker quality is well-known in audio circles and the Monitors are no exception. Binding posts, rubber driver surrounds, bi-amping, and solid MDF/wood cabinetry are just some of the obvious signs. It was my ownership of Polk products in the past and their great reputation that had me looking at them in the first place. I must make a confession. Purchasing seven new Polk Monitors for just over $500, with no shipping charges, was a very big factor in choosing this setup. Initially intending to upgrade the Monitors after a year, I'm finding little motivation after a COUPLE of years use, and very happy with the bang for buck performance. After visiting several stores and listening to various setups, it's my honest belief that a noticeably improved upgrade would cost around $1,000 for the pair.

5Crystal Clear Highs........
By Gerald D. Avery
Let me start by saying that I was looking for a pair of speakers to replace my Bose 701's. I love my Bose, but I felt that they were lacking in clarity on the higher end of the sound spectrum. So I decided to make them the front speakers of my home theater system, where the lack of high end sound clarity isn't as noticeable as when you are just sitting down listening to your favorite CD's. After much research I went to my local electronics store with a particular speaker in mind. I had decided on the Infinity Primus250. I was pleased with the highs that the Infinity's delivered, but before leaving I decided to listen to the Polk Monitor 50's because they were in the same price range and I know that Polk makes a quality product. After alternating listening to both speakers with a variety of music styles I was torn. Both speakers would have been a welcome addition to any home system, but the Polk speakers seemed to offer just a little more clarity on the higher end. The vocals and instumentation of the music seemed just a bit more alive with the Polks. I was right. When I got them home and hooked them up they sounded as good as they did in the store. So although I would not have been wrong if I had bought the Infinity's, I'm glad that I decided on the Polks. I hope this review has been helpful.

4Great for the price
By Imprimus
I paid $99 each for these speakers shipped. For this price, they are really great. I have them bi-wired with some overpriced monster cable speaker wire I had to buy at the local AV chain store because that's all they sell now. I did most of my listening through a panasonic blu-ray disc player, outputting the sound via an optical cable to my Onkyo old school 5.1 DTS receiver for the decoding. I've watched about a dozen movies and listened to many albums. I also do some listening with the old ipod. These speakers will satisfy all but the most discerning ears. The treble is clear and I think it is just right. Some speakers have a brighter treble that some listeners really desire (klipsch speakers for example), these are more neutral sounding which I feel is more natural. The treble is in no way muted or muffled, it's just right. They are ported, which means certain bass frequencies will be accentuated and there will be a slight loss of detail as compared to most completely sealed cabinets. This port helps to make the speakers sound more full for home theater, but I find it undesirable for music as it over-accentuates certain lower frequencies. Certain bass notes will really resonant, while others taper off quite a bit. The frequency range is just low enough to vibrate your couch just a bit, but definitely lacking for any music that is bass heavy. They almost will work for rock, but if you like your kick drums to shake your walls, you will need a sub. In fact most people will want a sub. If your idea of rocking the house is turning up a beatles track, they will do just fine. I would guess the sound level tapers off heavily at about 70hz. They do say they go down to 56hz I believe, but I doubt they are pushing much air at all at 56hz. The mid-range is good. Vocals have above average air and presence while piano and guitar sounds good, but mid-bass lacks punch and dynamics. They seem to image fairly well, but it's hard for me to tell in my current residence because my room is an odd shape. Though the manufacturer describes these speakers as requiring only small amplification, I think they really benefit from high quality amplification. My Onkyo receiver is certainly not a high-end amp, but I definitely think these speakers will sound better with amps that can drive them more dynamically and at louder levels. Watching Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds live on blu-ray was quite a treat. There's very little low bass in this show, as it is all acoustic guitars. Vocals were great and the guitars sounded very nice (I play guitar and know what a guitar should sound like live). You could easily discern the different guitars and point them out in the soundstage. Dave's voice sounded really great through these speakers. Treble was just a touch bright on this recording for me. Note that I was listening to this disc in 2 channel mode, not in surround sound, so as to really hear only the sound of the front speakers. So, to summarize: These are GREAT for movies, but you will want a sub. For Music, they are just above average, but when you factor in how little they cost, they are very nice for the price. They have a neutral natural treble and mid-range, with a mib-bass that I wished was more dynamic, and bass response that accentuated certain lower frequencies and wasn't as clear and low as I would like, but that's what you get with ported speakers. I really think these speakers will reveal a crappy source (crappy ipod, or cheapo cd player, or your typical receiver you will find in best buy that is just average).I think if you want to noticeably do better than these speakers, you are looking at spending at least about $500 a speaker. So yeah, when you factor in the price, these are a home run.

5Sound and Price
By J. DiBella
These speakers produce a beautiful sound for a very beautiful price. I just bought a pair of Monitor 50's to go with my sound system and home theater. The high end is crisp and clear, and the bass is clean, with no "booming" distortion. I compared these speakers to comparable floor-standing, 2-way Sonys, and the Polks outdo the competition with clarity and immaculate sound. The price at ABC Warehouse beats the cost quoted on Amazon, as I paid $175 for each one. Don't waste your time looking around. If this is your price point, these are your speakers.
