Product Description
This high quality Sterilight ultraviolet sterilization unit is great for "whole house" residential use. The Sterilight has an easily replaceable high intensity UV sterilization lamp that delivers 30,000 mw/cm2 at 254 nm wavelength and a pure quartz lamp tube for peak UV dosage. Units are constructed with a 304 stainless steel housing, and have an onboard audible and visible on/off lamp failure alarm. The 15 gallon per minute unit (S12Q-PA) is used in larger sized residential installation.

great sterilization system

After having problems with E.Coli detected in the drinking water system here in San Tan Valley, and the Utility company, not caring about our, nor our kids's health, not even bothering themselves to inform us, one week after they discovered the contamination, I knew I had to take preventive measures, since normal filters cannot remove bacteria, and virus contamination from the water, the only possible, and effective way, without breaking the bank, was to use UV sterilization systems, The Viqua sterilight S12Q-PA, was the best value for the money, I researched for days, and always the best choice was this system, powerful UV lamp, great flow rate, 12GPM, enough for a house with 3-4 bathrooms, very easy to connect, good size, and look, and again, the best price out there, the lamp life counter is also a plus to show when you should change the UV lamp (every 1 year) . I recommend this to everyone, who wants to have peace of mind concerning drinking, showering and washing water. just a precaution : be VERY careful when you insert the UV lamp inside the Quarts sleeve, it should be done very slowly, and trying not to press on the sleeve with the lamp, I broke the sleeve when trying to do so, had to order a new one from Amazon (47$ lost just like that)/

Our water source is a well, and we wanted the extra protection a u-v light can provide. We have a similar one at our mountain cabin, and it's worked perfectly for 10 years. This was an easy install, and the price was $100s lower than at my plumbing supply store!

too soon to tell. I just installed it

Installation, if you do it yourself, depends on your exixisting plumbing (I did not have a required sediment filter installed), is it copper, PVC or other, and how experienced you are with plumbing.Performance I don't know yet. You must disinfect your whole plumbing, quite a job with two bathrooms, laundry room, kitchen, refrigerator, dishwasher, all cold and hot, in and out of the house. I have not done that yet. Then, of course You will have to get your water tested before you know how well it works.
