Repeats keystrokes, mouse lags
By Aman
The unit looks pretty solidly built and the LED colors do look good.I liked the fact that the USB connection cables require only one connection (both mouse and keyboard go through a single USB cable from the KVM to computer, though you plug in the standard USB mouse and keyboard into two seprate USB ports).However:1. Sometimes when I type a letter, it appears multiple times (as if I pressed the letter 15 times). Liiiiiiiiiiiike this. I am using a wired USB keyboard.2. Moving the mouse pointer seems to skip motion sometimes. Especially when moving with the left click held down. I was using a wireless mouse but that had no problems with my previous (cheaper) Linksys KVM.3. Switching from one computer to the next requires pressing Scroll-lock twice FOLLOWED BY UP ARROW or down arrow key. On my previous KVM, just pressing Scroll lock twice caused the computer to be switched to the other one. The down arrow thing makes sense for the 4-port Raritan Switchman KVM since unless you press that 3rd key, the KVM does not know which computer to switch to. But on a two port KVM, thats just an inconvenience. Raritan was probably lazy and used the same firmware component on both models. One reviewer mentioned a blinking LED problem (if both computers are turned off, one LED will blink) - that can be an issue if you keep the KVM on the desk in a visible spot. You may want to keep it within reach on the desk if you find the three key combination to switch between computers to be annoying as the KVM does have a convenient button on the KVM to switch computers.I am still in the market for a good KVM...

Works with MAC & PC
By Paul
I have had this a few days now and I can control both a MAC mini and PC laptop through the same keyboard, mouse and monitor. Job done.I had the added complication that the keyboard is PS1 connected to USB via an Adesso adaptor, again no problem. I also have a multi-function printer and works fine through this switch for the PC (device not MAC compatible). The audio also switches and this is useful since I have speakers in my monitor. The unit is quite heavy and robust, seems to be decent quality. The only thing that annoys me is that the LED lights flash when my computers are not active (off or disconnected) so unless you turn the power off you will have a blue and green disco thing going on in your room (unless I have not read how to avoid this).Overall I am completely satisfied with this purchase.

Solid KVM for SOHO
By D. Brinkerhoff
My story is common: I carry a notebook between work and home, and I also have a desktop in my home office. It's convenient to maintain a single screen, mouse, and keyboard in my home office. I previously solved this problem with a Cables To Go KVM. Unfortunately, my keyboard (a simple, corded unit) would periodically quit until the KVM was reset, and the CTO customer service quit responding as well. The Raritan unit has seen many long hours of use and is working flawlessly. The screen image as seen through the Raritan KVM is undistinguishable from the image when the screen plugged directly into the computer. The KVM also fully supports my MX Revolution mouse and all of its extended features. And not a single keyboard failure! The Raritan KVM also makes it very convenient to switch an external hard drive, used for making backups, and a multifunction printer between the two computers. And was the only KVM that I could find that supports USB 2.0.They only (minor) downside is that front panel LEDs are bright and blink annoyingly when the computers are off. This is my fourth and best KVM. It's built well and works very well with no noticeable lag between the switch and being able to see and to work on the next computer. The price is a bit high but it serves as both a KVM and a switchable USB hub. If this matches your need, then I recommend the unit.
