Quite an improvement
By Gary E. Gilroy
I replaced a rochester quadrajet carb with this one and the difference is terrific. It was a breeze to install, only having to modify the fuel line and the electric choke which was easy. Took it on a trial run yesterday and boat ran excellent with carb adjustments left as they were right out of the box. I'll dial it in next time and expect it to be even better. I will never buy another rochester again. They just dont compare with this one.

Carb Replacement
By foxskir
I was getting tired of rebuilding my 1995 vintage 4-barrel Carter/Weber carburetor every season or two. Each rebuild kit was around $80. So I researched my replacement options and chose the Edelbrock 1409 Marine Series Carb. Some reviews said that right out of the box the motor would run fine. They were right. All I had to do was adjust the idle speed slightly. Boat runs great.

Nice carb
By Michael Butterfield
Not sure if I read somewhere that the carb comes completely "setup." Anyway, took one or two times with the boat out to get it right. Nevertheless, if you are looking to get rid of that old weber or whatnot, this was a bolt-on application, but please read my comment below.I do want to caution you though!! If you have to by the spread bore to square bore conversion kit...Edelbrock absolutely gives you the wrong hardware. The hardware they give you is identical to the original! If you are buying a conversion kit (basically a spacer), doesn't make sense that the height of the hardware will increase by the height of the spacer? Since Edelbrock makes the carb and the conversion kit, don't you think they would be able to get this right? Ran around 3 hours getting the right hardware and 20 minutes installing the carb.
