Nice case, however there are caveats

I bought this case for an Oscar Schmidt Acoustic Electric Auditorium Cutaway Guitar I own and while it's a very nice case there are two important things to consider when you make the purchase:1. It's not lockable in any way shape or form. There are no locks on the clasps and there is no manner in which you can seal the case with an external lock (ie such as a luggage lock). There are 4 clasps on the handle side of the case, one clasp on the bottom and one clasp on the hinge side so the case will stay closed, but there is no mechanism to allow it to be locked. To seal the case for travel you would have to use an external locking strap tightly wrapped around the center of the body where it can't be moved.2. The case is much smaller on the inside than one would expect. The Oscar Schmidt guitar I had bought this case for would not fit inside it as the bottom of the guitar body was more rounded while the inside of the case was more flat. Though the auditorium style guitar is similar in many respects to a classical guitar, they are not identical and my guitar has a rounder body at the bottom than the classical guitar, and that made a difference with this case. There was also a problem that the volume knob from the on-board electronics stuck out too far for the snug fit of this case, so had there not been a problem with the shape of the body, it would not have worked out anyways. Even an acoustic/electric classical guitar may have problems fitting in this case, depending on how far the electrics extend from the guitar body.However one of the MBT's other classical guitar cases worked out wonderfully well, though it's not as high quality as this one is, the MBT MBTCGCWBK Acoustic Guitar Case. The guitar fits snugly in this other case though I had to use a small cushion under the body of the guitar since the case was deeper than the body of the guitar, but it works out fairly well, and unlike the case on this product page its not flatter at the bottom and, though snug, the electrics didn't present a problem.The case on this product page is molded plastic with aluminum trim so can handle the stresses of travel better, while the one that actually fit my guitar is made of wood with a Tolex finish, though it actually can be locked and included keys. Both have soft, plush interiors. The one on this page has a black quilt lining (think Coffin Case type lining, though not as high quality) with good padding, while the other case has a soft, close cropped fur-like lining that was padded as well.This guitar case normally sells for over $100, but be aware that it's a bit smaller and may not fit your guitar before you make the purchase. But if you have a classical style guitar that does fit, it's a steal for the ~$50 it's at right now.James
