Second to none
By FrKurt Messick
My cats have fleas! Or, at least, they had fleas. I have used over-the-counter, less expensive items (flea powders, flea collars, etc.) up to and including other topical products like this one, and nothing worked. The flea collars were less than worthless - they actually caused patches of fur to fall out on at least one cat. The powder was unwieldy, and the other topical applications (save one) did not work at all.I must give credit where credit is due - I have used Frontline before for my cats, and have been very satisfied with the results from that one. However, I decided to try Advantage this time, as I'd heard good things about it, and it was on sale at a discount when I needed it. I couldn't be more pleased. Unlike most other topical applications where the flea substance is put on the shoulder blades of the cats and stinks (STINKS!), this has no easily discernable smell. This is a good thing. Also, the cats seemed to settle down from their scratching and biting at fleas within just a few minutes. Last night was the first night in weeks that the cats have all rested peacefully. There were no signs of flea-dirt left in their usual sleeping spaces last night. I am very pleased indeed. My cats are also happy. While I still have an appreciation for Frontline, I am happy to have Advantage as a viable alternative. The cats give this a sixteen-paw salute! (Four cats, four paws each, you know...)

Only one I will use
By Erik Guttormsen
Advantage is the only flea medication I will use on my cats as one of them experienced siezures with other cheaper varieties. Having long haired outdoor cats means they are guaranteed to get fleas, and Advantage is the only medication that keeps the fleas off so my Wife and I don't get bites. The same cat also is alergic to flea bites, and Advantage removed his bumps that he gets from bites and kept him healthy without having to go to the vet for a shot. The larger pack is a good idea because you save money in the long run, and amazon and their marketplace seller that I used has the best prices I could find.

Weve had wonderful results with no ill effects...
By DooDude
We have three dogs & two cats & occasionally a few hundred if not thousand fleas. We use different doses to cover the whole herd.We used Advantage when we lived in TX & it worked great. Then we moved to MO, got a new vet who sold Frontline in bulk & gave one free when you bought four. He would just fill syringes with a prescribed amout & put those in a medicine bottle. We thought, sure, whats the difference & went on as usual. The frontline is a good product & we couldnt really tell any difference so we just didnt think anymore about it.But after a few months one of our dogs started to have allergic reactions to fleas. For reasons I wont go into here, we switched Vets. Our new Vet didnt sell Frontline in bulk so we purchased the Advantage from her that came directly from the maker, Bayer.Wow, what a difference! I put it on the whole crew at 8 am & by noon the scratching & biting was almost non existent. I did a search for fleas & the ones I did find were either dead or moving so slowly they were easy to catch & kill. One to two days later we have no fleas at all.Now I should add two things here.First, I also treated my lawn with a 10 lb bag of flea, tick & ant killer which Im sure helped. At least as far as re-infestation is concerned.Second, I suspect that the bulk Frontline that I was purchasing may have been weakened by age or the way it was stored by the Vet & transferred to me in syringes. So I would suggest that anyone thinking about purchasing in this way, think again.Lastly, my wife & I are considering using Advantage & Frontline both. Possibly switching them every other month in hopes of keeping the little buggers from developing resistance. I dont know if that will help but it couldnt hurt.
