Good under hood light, but poor hangers... shop elsewhere.

I ordered this very item from ToolTopia.com a month ago. Their price was not the lowest (SJDiscount Tools has it for $156.92) but their warehouse was closer to my location and shipping was free.The under hood light was for my husband, and it works very well. But the hangers that attach the light to the frame do not appear to be the same as in the photo, and are woefully inadequate. The hangers we received with it are extremely flimsy S-hooks and at any time the bulb falls out during hanging.I contacted ToolTopia, and requested they locate the hangers shown in the photo, which appear much more secure. After some hemming and hawing, they didn't contact the manufacturer Central Lighting, but emailed me their phone number suggesting I remedy the problem myself. ToolTopia would not support the product they sold me and was uninterested in locating the missing parts. I do not recommend them!

Superior Product At A Reasonable Price

This is an outstanding product; high quality engineering and manufacturing which is built for the professionals. In fairness, I have seen this product in action, so I was well aware of what I was getting.Again in fairness, I must respectfully address Ms Brewster's disappointing experience with her order. Without knowing the details, I suspect the vendor substituted a different product than was displayed and discussed in the ad.Mine was purchased through El Dorado Sales and totaled $160.23 which included the shipping, and was exactly the one shown. Images of the product in use have been added. I hope Ms Brewster was able to resolve the product problem, as her husband will enjoy this light for many years.I might also add that a mechanic friend of mine bought this exact tool for $224.00 at Clarke Tool about 3 years ago. I'm what you would call a "shade tree mechanic" or "grease monkey". I've been working on cars for YEARS and one of the most annoying and troublesome problems I have is getting enough light where I need!!!! Drop lights are always either in the way, or falling, or just not at the right angle. This light really puts an end to all of that! Just hook it to your hood with the supplied hanger (which by the way is very very nice quality), and you have enough light to work anywhere in your engine bay! This thing put out enough light to allow me to work UNDER the car and not worry about toting a drop light with me. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. Highly recommended for anyone who details engines too! The fluorescent light really allows you to see all the small imperfections.
