Product Description
For wells with pumping levels of 25' or less. Self-priming after the pump housing is initially filled with water. Built-in shallow well jet has corrosion-resistant nozzle and venturi. Fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastic provides total corrosion resistance, and high resistance to sandy water. Dust-proof cover to protect all electrical components from dust and insects. Motor features stainless steel shaft, heavy-duty ball bearings, balanced rotor, mechanical shaft seal and insulated motor windings. Pre-set, pre-wired pressure switch for automatic operation when used with water systems tank. Top discharge. 1-1/4" NPT suction and 3/4" NPT discharge pipe sizes. Dual voltage 115/230V; factory set at 230V. Wiring diagrams are permanently affixedon each motor for easy field change to 115 volt. Pressure switch setting 30-50. U.L. Listed. Dependable and durable well pump

I am an engineer and have specified Flotec and Starite pumps for over 25 years. In this case I'd purchased a 3/4 hp flotec pump to replace an excellent Myers pump where I'd broken the cast iron pipe leading to the existing pump and required an immediate replacement. That was fifteen year ago and this unit has performed flawlessely for those 15 years of daily water use in our house. It has even survived two floods during deluge downpours that filled the garage where the pump resides. It doesn't look the part but it's a very well designed unit that will satisfy the requirements in most shallow well residential applications. We pump roughly 150 gallons a day for our daily household use. Generally I replace the pressure switch every seven years and there are no other requirements. Recently we experienced a hurricane and the pump was again submerged for a day. After a bit of simple care it restarted and is running fine once again but there is a quiet bearing noise that has me concerned so I'm going to purchase another identical Flotec 3/4 hp unit that perhaps will be the last water pump I'll have to worry about if it lasts another 20 years. It's an excellent product!

I didn't like the fact that this pump has a plastic volute and thought it might be "cheesy" My last pump was a Flint Walling and it was all steel. It lasted about 6 years and I thought that wasn't very long, so I went with a Flotec because the price was right and it was available. I am very pleased with it and I would recommend it to anyone. It is reasonably quiet and dry as a bone. It pumps up to pressure (55psi) quickly and I have had no problems with it so far. I've only had this for a year, but so far so good.
