ChallengAir 2000AD XL Dryer 2 Spd Product Description:

  • Produces high air volume
  • Significantly quieter than dryers with aluminum or metal housings.
  • Housing is virtually indestructible and will not rust, dent, scratch or crack
  • Two year warranty including hoses and nozzles.

Product Description

Produces high air volume due to the aerodynamic housing design and a smooth hose lining (less ridges inside the hose), which reduces resistance when air travels through the hose, thereby increasing the air volume: 86 cfm with the hose, 124 cfm without hose. Significantly quieter than dryers with aluminum or metal housings. The dryer is also designed so the motor is acoustically isolated from the housing with iso-dampers which are mounted between the motor and housing. The housing is virtually indestructible and will not rust, dent, scratch or crack as metal housings can. Twist-on nozzles prevent pop-off that can occur with forced-air dryers. We have also designed a special Air-Sweep Nozzle which pushes water from the animal's coat in sheets. Two year warranty includes hoses and nozzles.

5Quiet, sturdy, fast - A really good dryer
By FotoMeister
One word - Newfoundland - LOTSA fur to dry - Have had mine for 2 years and am highly pleased with its operation. Should maybe have bought the AirMax with 2 motors, but mine is more than adequate for the occasional user. It is relatively quiet, and the heat of the motor warms the air stream after a few minutes use. Very sturdy construction - and - nothing to rust! If you show your large furry beast, consider the AirMax to cut drying time.

4This one does the job!
By Cindy Robinson
This particular dryer was recommended to me by several other breeders of Coton de Tulears-- bichon-like dogs with long, fine, extremely soft coats. I used to spend WAY too much time with a human hair dryer on my dogs, and was told that "forced air dryers" are the way to go. The Double K ChallengAir blasts water off the dog in comparitively no time at all. One of the great features is NO HEAT. Heat can damage a delicate coat, and your room temperature air is warmed through the motor. Another plus to this dryer is its reasonable cost compared to other forced air dryers on the market. I appreciate the two speeds. Cons: it's loud, like a leaf blower, and my little dogs aren't thrilled when they see it come out of the cupboard! It's also cumbersome to store, and I could see why some folks would spend more money on something more compact.

5Best Dog Dryer
By sark9handler
I had this dryer for over 10 years and it was worth every cent I originally paid for it. I handle search and rescue dogs as well as compete in schutzhund trials and sieger-style conformation shows with my German Shepherds, and work in dog rescue as a transport and foster home, and this dryer was worth its weight in gold when trying to prepare a handful of dogs for the show ring, bathing and drying a new foster freshly pulled from the pound, or when I needed to wash and dry my dogs late at night after a night of training in the muddy, wintry slop outside. My local DIY dog wash charges $15/dog + tax for a dog wash and use of their dryers. With my 3 personal dogs, being able to groom at home means this dryer paid for itself in just 4 groomings. The forced air blasts the water off the coat, as well as blowing out dead/shed hair and undercoat, meaning less shedding in your home! This dryer was invaluable during the spring and fall coat blowing seasons for removing all that dead undercoat that my dogs are trying to shed around my house. Makes the season bearable with one long-haired German Shepherd and me, as anal retentive 'clean freak' as they come. It will blow all the hair all over the place, so I recommend drying outside or in a garage is possible if you don't want to have hair stuck to every square inch of your home. It comes with a variety of different attachments, and a removable, washable filter. This dryer held together over 10 years on the road, being dropped, jostled, toted around the country, had a teething puppy chew on the hose and wiring, and still managed to hold up and do its job with my duct tape and electrical tape fixes. I finally laid it to rest (and promptly ordered a new one) after the red plastic backing cracked all the way through from puppy teeth marks and repeatedly being dropped and knocked off grooming tables over 10 years and wouldn't stay on and the wiring needed to be redone from being chewed on (something Double K offered to fix for me if I mailed it in). There is no heat to dry out a dog's coat, however the motor warms the air after a few minutes of use. The only cons are that it is quite loud, although I've never had a problem getting a dog used to it after a few times of being patient and persistent with them (one of my male shepherds loves to play-bite at the air stream and thinks it's a big, fun game). It is quite powerful, so I can see the force of the air being a bit of a problem with smaller dogs, although when I worked as a grooming assistant years ago they had similar dryers and had no trouble with the smaller dogs. I highly recommend this dryer.
