Jet beam trolley

Having an elevated beam and trolley is a great work saver in a shop. The trolley is the easy part. Getting the I-beam lifted, fitted with tabs and bolted in place 16 feet above the floor was a challenge. The Amazon price on the trolley was excellent and the free shipping made it an easy decision. It was relatively easy to install and was equipped with a wide range of width adjustment options to permit a perfect fit. This trolley was the cheapest one I could find, yet the quality of the materials and the wheel bearings seemed excellent.The wheels on the trolley are tapered and technically they should be used on beams with tapered flanges. My I-beam has a virtually flat flange which means the wheels make contact at the outer edge of the flange. If very heavy loads were to be lifted, this design point should probably be considered.

I use this trolley to lift 300 - 400 lb engines and it works great. Rolls smoothly even with all that weight. Rolls out of the way when finished. Over all a great product.

Good instructions for installation. Care must be exercised with a trolley installation as you on a ladder above the floor. It takes 2 persons as the trolley is heavy and awkward before it is tightened. I used some wood clamps to keep it together temporarily on the beam. My helper handed me tools, spacers, etc. from below for final fit up. All in all a nice tool. Well made. C Beattie
