Product Description

This #6100 Jet Swet kit by Brenelle is the standard "tradesman" kit that most plumbers and maintenance personnel purchase, as it has the three standard residential sizes (1/2", 3/4" and 1") and the three most common commercial sizes (1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 2"). These six tools come in our standard heavy duty PVC carrying case along with a free 1/8" Je Swet "keychain" (while supplies last).

Jet Swets give the plumber the ability to be in complete control of the water system immediately upon arriving at the job. Normally, to repair a faulty valve or pinhole leak for example, the plumber would have to shut off the main water supply and wait for the entire system to completely drain until he could do the repair, for he could not solder with water dripping out of the line. The Jet Swet is an in-line tool that is inserted into the line beyond the repair site and tightened. The expanding gasket seals up to 65 lbs. of pressure immediately. The plumber can then solder or cut off the old valve or section of pipe and solder on a new one right over the Jet Swet tool which is holding back all the water pressure. Jet Swets are capable of withstanding amazing amounts of heat. Once the new component has been added to the system, the Jet Swet can easily be taken out of the pipe through the new component. The Jet Swet allows the plumber to be in complete control of the water system immediately, without waiting for the drip to stop.

I have been in the trade for 35+ years and just came across one of these puppies while helping another old guy replace a commercial grade water heater in an apartment building at 10:00 at night. Shut off Main to stop pressured flow, opened old 2" gate valved line from ceiling and shoved this up the piping about 8-10". You flip the end lever so it is 90 degrees from shaft so you can box wrench the nut, which expands rubber plug tight. No Water! You can unsweat/ remove old valve and set new ball valve, remove plug and shut new valve. This puppy saved draining a 3 story apt. building...at night. Of course it will not work on smaller piping with washer type stops; but you can cut it off if copper, or unthread if ironpipe and use this tool to stop contiinuous flow or drips. You Will get wet when installing tool; this handy tool lets you Solder a good joint on a dry pipe, You slip your ball valve over the shaft. I would recommend placing a couple of metal washers with a neoprene washer sandwiched in between between the nut and shaft. The shaft is aluminum and buckles/twists when tightening the nut. If you really appreciate this review, please buy me a set; my birthday seems to be comming up faster every year...if you want to shoot for that.
