I love these ladders and install them professionally, buying as anyone might, directly from Skywin Fakro. I am pleased to find an offering, from Skywin Fakro, via Amazon, at a fair higher price. Shoppers at Amazon will benefit from customer reviews, and a fuller view of competing products, than any physical store can offer.These ladders are beautifully designed, built with extremely durable woods and hardware. The hardware, especially, makes these ladders stand apart from those sold at only slightly less cost, in big-box stores. Hardware is of much heavier gage, and nuts and screws are not inclined to fall off. Springs reside on the door when the ladder is deployed, out of the way. Limit arms bearing loads through the door are strongly upright, not awkwardly waiting to snag something and deform. A sporty red handle on the door invites safe, forward-leaning posture. The limit arms too, are good safety grabs.Ladders are insulated and gasketed, deserving Energy Star rating, as worthy as any good exterior door. Why doesn't Energy Star promote intelligently-built attic ladders and hatches?
