5Great model kit
By R. Lemiszki
Don't pay attention to the naysay review below: this is a great model kit! It's difficult and will take considerable time and effort to assemble. Like any scale model kit, there are flaws (most notably the lack of a hangar deck), but there are plenty of aftermarket products designed specifically for this kit (such as Gold Medal Model's decals and photoetches, as well as Tamiya's own 1/350 aircraft kits) and tons of reference materials to let the builder customize the kit to configurations other than the default 1980's refit. Don't underestimate the size of the finished product either; you'll need to clear off three and a half feet of shelf space for display. It's not cheap either, but you get what you pay for; and any experienced knows that the hobby is not a cheap one, especially if you want ultra-detailing.

4Instructions in English

The instructions in English were at the bottom of the box, under the hull. The kit is excellent, makes a great companion to the 1/350 Nimitz.

5very high quality model
By primeguy
Ignore the negative review... they clearly didn't understand what they were buying...Tamiya is a top tier model and RC car manufacturer in Japan, not China. They were founded in 1946 and are considered the creme de la creme. In general these products are not toys, they are very highly detailed replicas that require a great deal of patience and skill. This model of the CVN65 Enterprise is a top quality, huge product.... it requires great skill to make it turn out right... the major notes are:- difficulty is very high... it's got things like the flight deck being in 3 sections which presents a challenge to get seamless flat fit etc.- the part tree setup doesnt list total parts but I guess there are about 400- there are 8 each of the F18A, F14A, A6, A7, S3A... this aircraft loadout is appropriate to the mid eighties until Desert Storm- thats not really enough aircraft, so to do a late 80s Enterprise you will need at least one each of the Aircraft kit 1 (modern aircraft) and one of the #2 (vietnam aircraft, which you will need for the E2, throw away the F4s)- the superstructure type is AFTER the 1980 overhaul / doesnt have the cone on top or the old style phased radar... so if you are particular about wanting it to look the cold war / vietnam / 60s look... this one is wrong and it will require a buncha work to make it look rightthe instruction manual is here [...]this is a top quality product and if you are the right type of hobbyist, you will not be disappointed....
