Holds up well

Well I purchased this at a local Petco because I really didn't have the time to wait for Amazon to ship this to me because I was expecting a brand new Teacup Yorkie the same day and so I decided to just get my little baby then go check out at the store. It was a little cheaper in the store for me because I got the last box and it was damaged PLUS the thing was on sale for 20% off anyway, they tend to give additional discounts if the box look too tampered with (although chances are the boxes are just damaged because the employees don't think its important to carefully stock the item on the shelf vs just tossing it) so check in store too if you have the time! I recently purchased a second one on here for our other Yorkie soon to come since like I said I purchased the last one in store. I noticed in the pet shop the boy may be a little rambunctious and I worried about getting a metal gate due to the fact he may injure himself on it. I purchased this canvas one instead surprisingly its very durable, Bear runs around in it and it hasn't fallen down, he did claw at the screen a few times because he wanted to get out and the screen didn't rip. I like how the crate opens from the top, the side and from a frontal stand point. The pocket on the side makes it easy to stow away water bottles and some of his snacks which I enjoy because then my hands are free to pick up the handles on the crate and carry him with me into the laundry room. I am still able to get things done, have him travel with me around the house without risking leaving him roaming and tumbling down the stairs or off the couch. It also come with a canvas carry bag and some pitching screws for the beach or camping if you are that type of person/family that takes their dogs along for those activities. Folding it down wasn't bad, I just assembled and took it down once just to see what I was up against. Assembly is a bit confusing if you don't look carefully at the pics on the instruction sheet but its nothing that take more than ten minutes, taking it down was way faster - more like four, and not that bad getting it back into its tote. Inside the crate is a think cushion like mat, Its not the most fluffy thing so I purchased a long cushy dog bed for extra padding and then covered that with some wee wee pads just in case there is an accident at night. I zip all the flaps on the side but I leave the flap at the top open for breath-ability although the flaps are all screens but still I also leave it open so I can hear if he cries at night. overall I like this crate and it is much more durable than it looks, it doesn't look like an ASPCA crate or puppy prison which I don't care for. To me it looks more inviting and its easy to make it cozy enough for your pup to go in willingly. My teacups (the boy) is about a pound if that he is fairly new at 2 months of age and the girl is a little heavier and this size crate leaves enough room for one Yorkie, Maltese,Pom or any other XS/SMall pup in it with a water/food combo dish and one toy. Putting a Shih-tzhu in this size would work but would be pushing it. Great value though and would reccomend.
